Zopet ga hudič vzame s seboj na zelo visoko goro, mu pokaže vsa kraljestva sveta in njihovo slavo in mu reče: »Vse to ti dam, če (predme) padeš in se mi pokloniš.« Tedaj mu Jezus reče: »Poberi se, satan; zakaj pisano je: ‚Gospoda, svojega Boga, moli in njemu samemu služi!‘« Tedaj ga je hudič pustil in, glej, angeli so pristopili ter mu stregli. (Mt 4,8-11)

Wieder nahm ihn der Teufel mit sich und führte ihn auf einen sehr hohen Berg; er zeigte ihm alle Reiche der Welt mit ihrer Pracht und sagte zu ihm: Das alles will ich dir geben, wenn du dich vor mir niederwirfst und mich anbetest. Da sagte Jesus zu ihm: Weg mit dir, Satan! Denn in der Schrift steht: Vor dem Herrn, deinem Gott, sollst du dich niederwerfen und ihm allein dienen. Darauf ließ der Teufel von ihm ab und es kamen Engel und dienten ihm. (Mt 4,8-11)

Again, the devil took him to a very high mountain and showed him all the kingdoms of the world and their splendor. “All this I will give you,” he said, “if you will bow down and worship me.” Jesus said to him, “Away from me, Satan! For it is written: ‘Worship the Lord your God, and serve him only.’” Then the devil left him, and angels came and attended him. (Mt 4,8-11)
