Prišel je v svoj kraj in jih učil v shodnici, da so strmeli in govorili: »Od kod ima ta to modrost in te moči? In spotikali so se nad njim. Jezus pa jim je rekel: »Prerok ni brez časti, razen v svojem kraju in na svojem domu.« In zaradi njih nevere ni storil tam mnogo čudežev. (Mt 13,54.57-58)

Jesus kam in seine Heimatstadt und lehrte die Menschen dort in der Synagoge. Da staunten alle und sagten: Woher hat er diese Weisheit und die Kraft, Wunder zu tun? Und sie nahmen Anstoß an ihm und lehnten ihn ab. Da sagte Jesus zu ihnen: Nirgends hat ein Prophet so wenig Ansehen wie in seiner Heimat und in seiner Familie. Und wegen ihres Unglaubens tat er dort nur wenige Wunder. (Mt 13,54.57-58)

Coming to his hometown, he began teaching the people in their synagogue, and they were amazed. “Where did this man get this wisdom and these miraculous powers?” they asked. And they took offense at him. But Jesus said to them, “A prophet is not without honor except in his own town and in his own home.” And he did not do many miracles there because of their lack of faith. (Mt 13,54.57-58)
